RAISE (Rye All Inclusive Special Education) is a special education parent group in Rye, NY that assists parents of children and young adults in our community who learn and live differently. RAISE welcomes any parent with an interest in improving the educational, social and recreational opportunities of all children, especially those with disabilities.
It is the mission of RAISE to promote continuous improvement and excellence in public education for children with disabilities through:
- Fostering parent engagement and providing education and resources
- Advocacy and collaboration with Rye City School District administration, faculty, staff and Board of Education
RAISE also seeks to foster inclusion of those with disabilities in our community by:
- Supporting and speaking on behalf of people with disabilities in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children and youth
- Leading and participating in events aimed at educating the community around issues of inclusion, equity and access of those with disabilities
